Saturday 10th 2pm CRANHAM near Painswick, Glos. Meet at SO893125. Park off the road near Cranham School. 3 – 4 mile walk through ancient woodland skirting Sheepscombe (Laurie Lee fame).

Saturday 17th 2pm FUNGUS FORAY Bernwood Forest (Oakley Wood) Meet in the Reserve car park. Take the Oakley/Brill road from Stanton St John. The car park is on the right soon after the Horton-cum-Studley road joins from the left (SP612118). Lunch available at The Star, Stanton St John – approximately 1 – 2 miles from Bernwood.

off your slides, photos and other materials for display or identification. Birds’ nests? – bring them along! Also a fiendish quiz.


Friday 5th Ken Betteridge “The Western Side of Wychwood Forest”

Sunday 7th 11am SLIMBRIDGE WILDFOWL TRUST Meet at entrance to the Visitors Centre (SO 048723). Take the A38 Gloucester to Bristol road or A419 from Stroud, or leave the M5 at Junction 13. The Wildfowl Trust is near the villages of Cambridge and Slimbridge. An entrance fee is payable. Waterfowl are usually displaying their best plumage at this time of the year. In addition to the collections there are hides from which to view wild birds on the banks of the nearby River Severn. There is a cafeteria for meals and snacks.
