Fear and Frustration in Fyfield

A neighbour of mine recently witnessed, and photographed, an event that he described as a scene of ‘fear and frustration’ through his study window.

Seeing a sparrowhawk appear in his garden a blackbird took refuge in the nearest available safe place – which happened to be a squirrel trap. You can only imagine the look on the blackbird’s face but the sparrowhawk looks distinctly puzzled and frustrated.

The blackbird was later released. One hopes that it’s as lucky next time.
