Unusual Starling

Adrian State writes:

I got rather excited today, I was eating my breakfast in the back garden at 6:30am when I spotted this unusual starling amongst the flock of up to 150 starlings I regularly get on my back lawn in Brize Norton.

For a brief moment I thought it might be a rose coloured starling. However, on examining the image it soon became clear that it was a leucistic starling, which means it has a genetic defect which causes it to lose some of its pigmentation.

I think you will agree it is quite a handsome chap and contrasts well with the regular starling standing beside it.
