Spring!

Bluebells and King Alfred's cakes (M. Collins).

Maggie Collins writes: Spring seems to be here at last and at the moment the heavy rain is holding off.  Jill T called on me to say that Large Red Damselflies were hatching in her pond….

I quickly joined her to watch them, leaving their casings behind and flying off.  We watched some beautiful dragonflies doing the same thing a couple of years ago in the same pond.

A recent walk at Wilcote and Holly Grove showed us bluebells in all their glory along with a few early purple orchids and newly-born lambs soaking up the sun.  We also found an elm tree that was fairly sizable.  How long will it last?
