Glow Worms, July 2025

23 July, 2025

A glow worm walk wasn’t on the programme, but as a couple of other walks had to be cancelled because the very hot, dry weather had affected the plant life, we scheduled a pop-up. Would any glow worms pop up? My recce wasn’t very promising.

Moth Morning, July 2025

WOFC Moth Morning 13th July 2025

Our annual Moth Morning took place one week later than in 2024. Add on the exceptionally dry and hot conditions that we have experienced this year and it was no great surprise that the variety of moths was a lot different from last year.

Shares were sold to local people and the West Oxfordshire District Council. They have proved to be a wise investment.

Farmoor Reservoir

Sunday 12 January 2025

When 16 of us met up in the car park for this walk the weather was an improvement on that of the previous few days and although still very cold , it was clear with, fortunately, no wind ― the water was like that on a mill pond.
